Triple Helix Nigeria (THN) marks a significant milestone in its institutional journey with a strategic leadership transition. Effective 1 February 2026, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu formally concludes his tenure as President, handing over leadership to Tassalla Tersugh, who assumes office as the new President.
This transition represents not just a change in leadership, but a continuity of vision and a progression from foundation-building to scale and impact within Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu’s tenure (January 2022 – January 2026) will be remembered as the foundational and consolidation phase of Triple Helix Nigeria. Under his leadership, THN evolved from a conceptual initiative into a legally registered, governance-enabled, and internationally recognised innovation platform.
Anchored on the Triple Helix Model of Academia–Industry–Government collaboration, his stewardship was guided by the ambitious Vision 10:10:10:10 — to inspire knowledge institutions to accelerate innovation and secure equity participation in industry within a decade.
